Albert Browning, Queen Street, Tongwynlais, was summoned lor a breach of the Coal Mines Act. Mr. Griffith Llewelyn, Aberdare, prosecuted.—John Jones, a ripper at the Dowlais-Cardiff Colliery, Abercynon, stated that on Wednesday, Sept. 30th, he was appointed to make a search. When he came to defendant he found a box of matches in his pocket. Defendant admitted the offence, but could not offer any explanation as to how the matches came there.—Fined 10s. and costs.
